Route 3: A 15-minute Walk of Fame

The highlight-route

Guus van Engelshoven

"In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes." Andy Warhol, 1968

The collection policy of the FRAC aims to make important international trends within the arts visible and accessible for a broad audience. However, because the FRAC mainly acquires art from living artists it is often difficult to predict whether an artist will leave a lasting mark on art history, or that his influence is of short duration. As a result, the collection of the FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais includes both internationally renowned artist and relatively unknown artists.

This highlight-route shows ten artists, who are considered to be of major relevance in the international field of the arts. Many of the artworks within this route have never been presented in the Netherlands. Regardless of chronological order or art movement, the route takes you through the exhibition, in order to show you the richness and quality of the collection of the FRAC within 15 minutes.
