Make me think: Bruce Nauman
English without subtitles
Visit the challenging world of Bruce Nauman, a multi-faceted artist who believes that the importance of a work of art is in the process of making it. With this philosophy at the core of his work, he became a major player in the conceptual art movements of the 20th century.
Using a diversity of media, including sculpture, video, printmaking, performance, and installation, Nauman has used his art to examine the major questions of life, mapping the human experience from birth to death. As in his 1983 neon sculpture consisting of the words Life, Death, Love, Hate, Pleasure, Pain, his work focuses on the essential elements of the human experience. Make Me Think features 60 works of art from Naumans career, including his early film projections and video installations Clown Torture and Anthro/Socio. It also chronicles the development the work Violent Incident, which is shown at the exhibition Out of Storage.
